BIOGRAPHY

I'm a visual artist from the Dominican Republic. I try to make my work as expressive and honest as I try to be as a person. Empathy as a whole is a thing that I find very important, which is why I try to make my pieces expressive and impactful. The reaction of the viewer contributes to the overall goal of what I try to make and fuels me with more ideas as an artist. Because I am currently a student my work varies from paintings and prints to videos and performances.
My artwork is very experimental and diverse because I am curious and eager to learn multiple mediums. Most of my pieces try to express a specific emotion or common situation. They tend to be very sensorial because I try to focus on the reaction the spectator may have to them. Each piece always has my personal view and opinion intertwined with the topic. Expressiveness and sensorial effects are qualities that I like my materials to have, thus I tend to contrast the intensity of the light and darkness in my pieces and saturate my colors. Oil pastels and oil paint are both mediums that I often go to because of the freedom in appliances and the strong pigments they give. The audiovisual pieces I make often lack dialog and are fast-paced while having a rhythm. In my audiovisual pieces, I also like to incorporate a bit of performance. Unscripted situations are moments that amuse me and inspire my overall work.
